Coming 'Round The Clock: Can I Wear My Dildo All Day?

Posted by Anna Bergeron on

Having a dildo tucked deep inside your vagina or asshole feels great. We'll never be the ones to deny that - we're pretty sure there isn't a single staffer here at Lovegasm who doesn't agree! And, if you're as much of a dildo fan as we are, you've probably caught yourself thinking it at least once:

Why can't I just leave it inside me and keep feeling these amazing feelings all day?

So you're wondering if you can wear your dildo all day. Well, we're happy to tell you that the answer is.... well, it's SOMETIMES yes. But also sometimes no. Probably the best way of answering that question would be "yes, if you use the right type of dildo and take the proper precautions".

Which, of course, is why we've produced this helpful guide specifically designed to help make your long term dildo use as safe, comfortable and most of all pleasurable as possible!

Choose The Right Type

Unfortunately, not all dildos are designed for long term use. Some dildos are made from a material which can eventually become harmful if left inside you for too long. Meanwhile, still others have a shape which is not conducive to staying comfortably inside you as you go about your daily routine.

Finally, there are those dildos which are either too small or too narrow and can wind up getting stuck deep inside you with no hope of removing them yourself. And trust us - the LAST thing any dildo fan wants is to wind up at the emergency room in the middle of the day because they've got a sex toy hopelessly stuck in their vagina or anus.

A quick search reveals that the Internet is full of these horror stories, each with thousands of views and hundreds of comments to their name - and you don't want to be the latest one, do you?

The first thing to understand is that the majority of dildos are not specifically designed for long-term use. This is because other toys exist to fill this niche - in particular, butt plugs and anal beads are made with all-day marathon sessions in mind.

To learn more about these unique toys, head over to the butt plug and anal bead sections right here at Lovegasm for even more informative guides just like this one. And, of course, you can buy both types of toy right here in our catalog!

But just because they weren't specifically designed for it doesn't necessarily mean that all dildos are unsuited for long term use. Choose a dildo with a wide, flared base, suction cup or pair of molded balls at its bottom.

This base will prevent the dildo from getting "pulled" or "sucked" into your vaginal or anal cavity even if your muscles tighten up down there. This should keep you safely out of the emergency room no matter what happens!

As with other dildo-centered sexual activities, "start small" is always a solid piece of advice. Remember that the vagina and the anus are both muscles and, like every other muscle in your body, they can become tight and sore if they are given too much exercise.

If you've never tried using a dildo long-term, putting in a thick 8-9 inch monster from day one will probably leave you aching and barely able to walk the next morning. As always, start with something smaller and narrower. Once you've become comfortable with that, you can gradually work up to larger and more extreme sizes.

Secure The Dildo Properly

It's important to give your muscles as much of a rest as you can and limit the amount of work they will need to do. Since most dildos, unlike butt plugs, will not naturally stay put without your muscles needing to clench or tense.

And trust us, the feeling of your dildo slipping out unexpectedly midway is not exactly a pleasant one - especially if it happens while you are in public! Feeling it slowly slide out of you at work or at the store can be downright mortifying!

To prevent the dildo inside you from slipping out, you have two options. First, you can wear a pair of tight panties which will keep that area of the body snug and immobile. Latex and Spandex are excellent material choices due to their extremely elastic nature. If you're not sure where to purchase panties like this, try the "exercise wear" section at your local clothing store.

Alternately, you can look for "compression pants," which can be frequently found at maternity or health focused stores. Lastly, you can of course head on over to our catalog to check out Lovegasm's extensive selection of products!

Your second option is to secure the dildo inside yourself using a harness. Some premade strap-on harnesses will work for this purpose. Make sure to choose one which is capable of supporting a "double dildo" or "double-headed dildo," as those will allow you to painlessly penetrate yourself.

You can check out the strap-on section of our site to learn more. While you're waiting impatiently for your new harness to arrive, however, you can also create a temporary harness out of rope which will successfully secure your dildo for a few hours. Take Breaks & Reapply Lube

Unfortunately, if you plan to keep a dildo inside yourself all day, you will not be able to do so in one unbroken period. Over time, no matter how excited you are, the lube which you applied at the start of your session will begin to dry out.

This can cause friction and rubbing which feels uncomfortable or even painful, and can leave your sensitive areas red, raw and sore if not addressed properly.

You will need to remove the dildo and re-apply lube before putting it back in and continuing to go about your day. Keep small bottles of lube in your pocket or purse in case you find yourself needing to reapply while out of the house. If you are new to long-term dildo use, we recommend re-lubing at least once per hour.

As you become more accustomed to the experience, you will be able to feel the signs your body gives you and learn when you need a break or a little more lube. Each person's body is different, so getting to know your individual body and its needs is an important part of making this process as pleasurable as possible for you.

Take a break and temporarily remove your dildo if you are going to be performing any activities that you feel may cause discomfort or muscular strain. For example, if you are new to all-day dildo use, we might suggest taking it out if you are driving down a bumpy road or exercising at the gym.

We also advise against wearing your dildo in situations where you could potentially disrupt people around you, such as in a quiet workplace or library, or around minor children or other individuals not capable of consenting.

Don't Overdo It

While there is no one maximum amount of time after which a dildo should not be worn, we do recommend not overextending yourself or pushing your body past what it is capable of. In general, we recommend those starting out to begin by keeping the dildo inside them for no more than 3-4 hours.

As you practice and become more and more comfortable with the associated sensations, you can try keeping your dildo in for 6, 8, 10, or even a full 12 hour day at a time!

However, you should always stop and remove the dildo immediately if you begin to feel any pain, muscle strain, or other discomfort. As we mentioned earlier, keeping a dildo in for too long can cause your anal or vaginal muscles to cramp and become extremely sore the next day.

As you are becoming accustomed to the feeling, we recommend a hot bath or shower after removing your dildo. We find that this majorly decreases the risk of ending up sore, cramped or unable to walk the next day!

If you follow the tips provided in this article, then all-day dildo wearing is definitely within your reach! You can enjoy multiple explosive orgasms without having to worry about pain, stress or even muscle soreness.

Plus, you'll have absolutely zero worry about ending up as an emergency room horror story. The feelings of pleasure deep within you will last longer than you ever thought they could, and you'll be completely safe the entire time.

Of course, to try this out, you first need the perfect dildo - and luckily, our catalog has got plenty of options for you to choose from!
